Cookie Privacy
Cookies are small text strings that the websites visited by the user send to their device (usually the browser), where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the same websites on the user’s next visit. Whilst browsing a website, the user may also receive cookies on their device that are sent from different websites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), on which certain elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages on other domains) present on the website they are visiting may reside.
On each subsequent visit, cookies are sent back to the website that created them (first-party cookies) or to another site that recognises them (third-party cookies). Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise the user’s device or the user themselves, for example when they log into a computer system using authentication credentials. Based on their function and purpose, the Data Protection Authority has classified this digital tool into three different types:
• technical cookies
• profiling cookies
• third-party cookies
This website uses technical, profiling and third-party cookies.
Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those for which the User’s consent is not required under Article 122(1) of Legislative Decree 196/2003. Among these technical cookies, we highlight the use of the following essential cookies:
session cookies
cookies that store functions without which it would not be possible to use the site to its full extent (for example, the shopping basket in e-commerce)
cookies for statistical purposes
cookies to store user choices such as data consent
These cookies are used exclusively by us and are therefore classified as first-party cookies.
Essential cookies are used, for example, when you access the members’ area (if available) or when you select “Stay logged in” before logging in.
These cookies also facilitate the transition from http to https when you change pages, ensuring that the security of the data transmitted is always guaranteed.
A cookie of this type is also used to store the user’s decision regarding the use of cookies on our website.
Essential cookies cannot be disabled using the website’s functions. Technical cookies also include those used to statistically analyse accesses or visits to the site, also known as “analytics”, which serve exclusively statistical purposes (but not marketing or profiling) and collect information in aggregate form without the possibility of identifying individual users. These cookies can be disabled and/or deleted via your system settings.
